2021 Portland Timbers schedule released

2021 Portland Timbers schedule released

The Portland Timbers announced their 2021 schedule on Wednesday.  Unlike the 2020 schedule, the Timbers will be playing each team in the Western Conference at least twice, and also have two games against teams from the Eastern Conference.

The Timbers open the season with a series of twelve matches that alternate between away and home matches, including some of their longest road trips of the season, with three trips to Texas, and their lone trip to the east coast for a match at Philadelphia.

They then play five of their next seven matches at home before being on the road for five straight matches from mid-August to mid-September.

The season ends with seven of their last eleven matches at home, but there is some match congestion at the end of the season with six matches in the last 22 days of the schedule.  Otherwise the only times the Timbers play three matches in a calendar week are June 19-26, July 17-24, and August 15-21.

Here is the schedule breakdown:

Vancouver (1 home, 2 away)
