Timbers reportedly sign Kenny Cooper

It has been reported (though not yet confirmed by the team) that the Timbers have acquired 1860 Munich forward Kenny Cooper.

Cooper played for FC Dallas until 2008, but suffered a broken tibia in 2007, but was named comeback player of the year in 2008, scoring 18 goals in 30 games. Cooper has only played 19 games for 1860 Munich and Plymouth Argyle in the past two seasons. He also has 10 National team caps for the US.

Cooper is also the second Timbers player with a connection to the mid 80’s indoor Baltimore Blast. His father is Kenny Cooper Sr., and coached the Blast from 1980 to 1994, and one of his star players was defenseman Bruce Savage, who played for the Blast from 1984 to 1992. Bruce Savage is the father of former Timber Keith Savage.
