Former Timbers forward Scot Thompson has been named the Timbers official community ambassador as the Timbers prepare for their first season in MLS in 2011.
After retiring from soccer after the 2010 season, Timbers fans hoped that he would continue is association with the team, and this position will have him as the primary liaison for the community outreach department and the community, as well as the lead ambassador of the Timbers Alumni association.
Scot led the USL Timbers in minutes with 12,994 minutes over his seven years with the Timbers, scoring nine goals during that time
