The Timbers welcomed an old rival in a new league tonight, as the Vancouver Whitecaps were in town, the only team the Timbers had not yet faced in MLS, though the history between the two clubs goes back to 1975.
The Timbers had early goals from Diego Chara and Jorge Perlaza (pictured) before giving up a late goal the Vancouver’s Camilo. But the Timbers were able to effectively kill off the rest of the match for the 2-1 win, and still have a chance to win the Cascadia Cup for a third straight year.
