The Portland Timbers continued their last season surge with a 3-0 victory over the New England Revolution in front of a Timbers record crowd of 20,323 at JELD-WEN Field. The Timbers opened up approximately 2,000 extra seats for this match.
First half goals by Diego Chara and Kenny Cooper had the Timbers up 2-0 at the half, and a second half header by Darlington Nagbe was backed up with another shutout by Troy Perkins for the 3-0 win. With the win, the Timbers are now have four straight home wins, and are 3-0-1 in their past four matches overall, including three straight shutouts.
