The Timbers went into Toronto desperately needing a win, after having gone winless in the previous seven matches. And though they didn’t get the win, even after holding an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Sal Zizzo, then losing the lead on two quick goals by Toronto in the second half, the Timbers can take a little solace from a rare late rally, with Darlington Nagbe getting an 82nd minute goal to secure the 2-2 draw.
It is only the third time in their MLS history that the Timbers have gained points after 70 minutes, the other two times being the Dallas match on August 5, and the last game of the season in Salt Lake City last year. It’s also only the third and fourth goals scored by the Timbers on the road this year.
