The Timbers run of undefeated play in preseason, which goes all the way back to April 3, 2010 when they lost to Kitsap while in the second division, ended Friday with a 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City in an exhibition match in Tucson, Arizona.
Jerome Mechack had the lone goal of the match in the 64th minute on a low free kick that eluded Timbers goalkeeper Milos Kocic.
The next preseason match for the Timbers will be against Seattle on Tuesday, February 5.
