The Portland Timbers faced a Sporting Kansas City side looking for revenge from an Open Cup loss earlier in the week, and SKC brought a very physical style of play to the match Friday night in Portland, and the Timbers never recovered from a 24th minute goal by former United Soccer Leagues Timber Lawrence Olum, and the visitors held on for the 1-0 win.
