The Portland Timbers will feel disappointed to not have scored in the Western Conference Championship opener at home on Sunday, but they also didn’t allow a road goal, so it’s all to play for in Kansas City on Thursday night. A draw with goals or a victory will see the Timbers through to MLS Cup 2018.
Timbers defender Jorge Villafaña hit the post in the 6th minute, and Timbers largely controlled the run of play, but neither team found the net, so the MLS Cup representative will be the victor in Thursday’s match in Kansas City.
