The Portland Timbers will be opening their 2021 season on the road at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah on April 18 but it will be against the Vancouver Whitecaps, not Real Salt Lake. The Whitecaps are playing at least some of their home games this year in Sandy because of COVID-19.
The Timbers will open their home season on April 24 against the Houston Dynamo at 7:30.
Before the home opener, the Timbers will be playing their 2021 CONCACAF Champions league matches against Marathon of Honduras, first on the road on April 6, then at Providence Park on April 13 at 5:00.
