The Portland Timbers finally broke their scoreless streak, with a goal by Jarosław Niezgoda in the 53rd minute, but could not hold onto the lead as Aaron Long tied it up in the 67th minute. With the result the Timbers are now 1-3-2 (W-L-D) all-time on the road against the Red Bulls.
Oddly enough the Red Bulls are winless in 5 games at home this year, but a perfect 5-0-0 on the road.
