The Portland Timbers were in Utah to face Real Salt Lake tonight. Neither team ever found the net on a wet pitch after a rain delay, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
There wasn’t much of a threat to score for either team for much of the first half, but at the very end of the half, Real Salt Lake came within inches of scoring when a header by Justen Glad was only kept out by a spectacular save by Aljaž Ivačič, and a follow-up chance on the rebound by Braian Ojeda was off the post. The half ended with the teams level at 0-0.
In the 75th minute the Timbers had a great chance of their own when a blast from outside the box by Dairon Asprilla nicked off the left post but went wide.
Each team had their opportunities that forced good saves from the keeper, but neither team found the net in the 0-0 draw.
