The match was delayed by about two hours before it finally kicked off at about 8:30pm, Pacific time.
The best early chance was a header by Lalas Abubakar that was saved by David Bingham. On the ensuing corner kick, it appeared Abubakar had put the Rapids into the lead with another header, but the play was nullified when it was determined that Bingham had been fouled during the play. Neither team scored in the first half so it was 0-0 at the break.
At halftime another long weather delay ensued, with the match eventually being postponed at about 11:00pm
